I have been a Kindergarten Teacher at Donelson Elementary for 5 years. I love instilling a love for learning in the lives of each child that enters my classroom.

I look forward to serving the many teachers who are a part of this wonderful association.

PE specialist at Lakeland ES

I am lucky to start my 13th year of teaching with Lakeland School System, of which the last 8 years have been at Lakeland ES. This is my 2nd full year as the LES AR for GALEA. I graduated from the University of Memphis in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree. My husband, 15 month-old daughter, and I enjoy all kinds of sports, especially UofM basketball and football. I am also a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, and think this is the year that they will finally win another World Series!

Position: 4th grade teacher at Arlington Elementary

This is my 16th year of teaching. I teach fourth grade math and science. I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Administration and Supervision and a +45 in Educational Theory and Practice.

I believe that to be effective as an instructor, I must create a safe environment, where children are allowed to interact and collaborate.  I believe that students should be in an environment that promotes problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

I also believe that teachers should be in a safe environment where they can collaborate effectively and voice their concerns over issues that affect them (directly or indirectly).

I serve as an association rep for GALEA at Arlington Elementary.  GALEA has given me the opportunity to meet people who are just as passionate about education and who are willing to serve both their students and their colleagues.
